Women's Group
The Women’s Group program is for women who want to improve their fitness and skiing technique in a community-based group setting. We have a talented and professional team of coaches who work with smaller groups of women based on skill and fitness level. The Group has been open for all ages and abilities who want to join a motivational fitness group (emphasizing fun!) and a wonderful, supportive group of women to be outdoors with!
The group meets one evening per week from 6:30-8:00 PM. One group meets on Tuesdays and the other group meets on Thursdays.
Tuesday Group: Session is designed for Intermediate and Advanced skiers. This session is open to skiers who have prior experience in both skate and classic techniques. Members should be capable of skiing all lit trails at Kincaid or Hillside in either technique. Instruction will be given in both skate and classic techniques through the season, but will focus on one or the other each evening. Sessions will focus on improving technique and efficiency as well as building each athlete’s fitness, in a fun and supportive environment.
Thursday Group: Session is designed for Beginner and Intermediate skiers. This session is open to skiers of all ability levels, but will focus on building experience and comfort on skis. Skiers can join in on skate or classic technique instruction, and do not need to be able to do both to participate. We welcome new skiers, but for anyone who is completely new to skiing, please send a note to the coaches so that we can best meet your needs.
Both sessions are a great opportunity to work on improving base fitness, learn about technique, waxing, and training. Whether you are a new recreational skier or looking to take the next step and participate in community races, our supportive, professional coaches are here to help you meet your goals for the winter season!
