APU Bog & Forest Run

Alaska Pacific University’s Homecoming Weekend is almost here and will be chock full of fun, gathering and you guessed it, FUN RUNS!

Back by popular demand, APU Nordic Ski Center is hosting the 2nd Annual Bog & Forest Run through the swamps and trails of Alaska Pacific University! Each course will have a 5k and 3k route. The 5k courses will be timed for those wanting to race, and the 3k will be a true “fun run” and not timed. 

What route will you choose – Mud or Forest??  Either way, be sure to Register here! 

The run is free to register (donations to cover costs are appreciated!) and is open for anyone in the community to join. This run will test your mud tromping ability and adventurous spirit as you traverse through the Jim Mahaffey trails. We welcome back our APU Alumni and community to join us for this fun day. 

Runners can choose 1 of 4 courses: the 5k or 3k Bog or the 5k or 3k Forest! Each route will be color coded and well marked and will bring its own fun and adventure. Each 5k will be timed while the 3k will not for a true “fun run” experience. 

Winners of the timed 5k will be announced at 4pm.

Games, food and beverage will be available at the race start and finish in the Moseley Sports Center Parking lot.

2-3pm

• 2-2:45pm Race registration & Bib Pick Up
• 2:45pm Race Warm Up With APU Nordic Elite Team & Olympians
• Games, Food & Drink

3-4pm

• 3pm Race Start
• 3:45pm Muddiest Runner Content
• Prizes for 5K Winners
• Food, Beverage & Games, Music & Fun until 4pm!

Fun prizes will be given out to the top finishers of each 5k race. This year, we will have a people’s choice for muddiest runner!

After the race, runners can line up at 3:45pm and our mud committee will choose the muddiest runner this year!

Prizes will be handed out and announced at 4pm for the muddiest runner and for the 5k winners. 

Hoses will be provided to wash off if needed!

The Bog & Forest run helps to celebrate homecoming weekend by welcoming back APU Alum and welcoming new community into our amazing trail system.  A part of what helps to keep APU healthy, fit and active is our outdoors programs, Moseley sports center and Nordic Ski Center. As leaders and healthy heroes in our community, our APU Nordic Elite Team and Olympians will be leading the run for our community.
