Thanks for the messages guys! I really appreciate your words of wisdom and support!! Right after writing this post I found out I am anemic (low iron), which explains some of the bad feelings I’ve had in training this summer. Now I am working on getting healthy and back to normal training, keeping in tune with my “perspective shift” from above🙂
Rosie! I am so sorry to hear this. I know that you will come back stronger than ever. Just remember to don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff. You are doing so much with school and skiing and just about everything else under the sun. Give yourself some time to relax. Also, remember to have some fun while doing it too! Sending you good juju girl!! Love you!
Reading your post brought back so many memories for me. You might not remember me but I’m from Winona, MN and skied at NMU during the late 1980’s. I had exactly the same experience you are having now during my final years at NMU. Only advice I can provide is do exactly what you are doing. Step back the pressure, stay positive and probably most important – find yourself beyond skiing. You seem to have a really well rounded life. Shift focus to the other areas while your body recovers to bring back those PR’s. You’ll find you become an even better racer knowing you have those other areas when it comes back. IT WILL COME BACK. Cheers and enjoy the ride. Go Wildcats!!
